Overloaded Car Lifts.

Thanks for the information you send out, can you advise on a problem that the Service Department is experiencing. Our vehicle lifts were inspected recently and the person inspecting suggested that they look like they are being used to lift vehicles that exceed the lift's working load. We regularly service Transit van type vehicles and the lifts should be sufficient to safely raise these vehicles. However we now think that some of these vehicles, especially those with built in racking systems and tool boxes may actually be overweight.

What do you suggest that we do?

Employee's complaint about a Customer, and right to be accompanied at a Grievance Hearing.

An employee has made a complaint which relates mainly to a customer, the problem is not really within my control should I still hold a grievance meeting? Also when I hold a disciplinary meeting we always notify the employee of their right to have a colleague or trade union representative present. Is this the same for a grievance meeting?

Company fined after 16 year old injured by machinery

 

At the beginning of June 2015 a Maidstone company specialising in supplying agricultural machinery and motor vehicles has been fined after a teenager on paid work experience nearly lost the tips of his fingers in unguarded machinery.

Keeping all our documents electronically
