SMP/SAP is paid for up to 39 weeks. Pay rate for the first six weeks of SMP: 90% of the employee’s average weekly earnings. SMP for the remaining weeks/ SAP: £138.18 or 90% of average weekly earnings, whichever is the less. Qualifying conditions: related to earning level, length of service, time limits for notification and medical evidence of pregnancy/documentary evidence of matching for adoption. |
